The subject, who had been previously trespassed from Gonzaga for bike theft, was apprehended at Ionic Burrito and booked into the county jail for felony theft. The subject had attempted to remove\u00a0a bike&#8217;s U-Lock using a hydraulic jack. In his backpack, police also found an air soft (plastic pellet) pistol, knife, and bolt cutters.<\/p>\n<p>The Alumni Center reported the theft of a\u00a040&#8242; X 4&#8242; sign. The sign was taken between 7:00PM on October 21 and\u00a07:30AM on October 22.\u00a0The sign has\u00a0a white background with blue and red letters stating &#8220;WELCOME BACK ALUMNI&#8221; and\u00a0is valued at\u00a0$500.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 21<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A GU Student\u00a0contacted Security to report that her yellow\u00a0Giant Yukon\u00a0bike was been stolen sometime between 10 am and 3 pm on October 20 from the SE College Hall bike rack.\u00a0She reported it had been secured with a cable lock.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 17<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A Gonzaga\u00a0student reported he was assaulted off-campus at about 2:00 AM near the 200 block of East Nora.\u00a0 The student reported a male subject with his face covered\u00a0took his wallet and slashed him on the arm with a sharp object, possibly\u00a0broken glass.\u00a0\u00a0The student reported that the subject returned his wallet when he found no cash inside, and then fled the area on foot. The student was treated for minor injuries at a local hospital. The Spokane Police Department is investigating. The student described the subject as a white male, 35-45 years of age, about 6 feet tall, of heavy build, with long brown hair and a full beard. The subject was wearing dirty pants, dirty heavy leather gloves, and boots.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 16<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A GU Student reported that\u00a0he secured his\u00a0red\u00a0Specialized Epic bike\u00a0by\u00a0it&#8217;s front tire with a U-Lock to the bike rack near the northwest south doors of Crosby Student Center at\u00a01:00PM on October 15, and found only his tire still securely locked to the bike rack at 3:00AM on October 16.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>A fire alarm at Coughlin Hall was intentionally activated at about 2:00AM.\u00a0Two subjects were videotaped as one activated a pull station alarm near the garage entry doors\u00a0and both then fled through the parking garage. Drains on sinks in the building had also been intentionally plugged during the same time frame, causing damage. GU Security is investigating. Tampering with a fire alarm is a misdemeanor crime in Washington State.<\/p>\n<p><strong>October 15<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A GU Student reported that her vehicle was entered while parked in the 400 block of East Augusta\u00a0sometime between 11:30PM on October14 and 9:00AM on October 15. 50 CD&#8217;s and a handful of change were taken.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>October 22 Three Gonzaga parents teamed up to catch a bike thief by following the subject after he fled a bike rack at Coughlin Hall until Spokane Police and Gonzaga Security arrived.
