On December 23, the owner of a private off-campus house in the 1200 block of N Astor reported to GU Security that sometime on Saturday December 21, unknown person(s) kicked in the back door to the residence.\u00a0 The owner of the home called one of the GU students renting the house and advised the student of the break-in.\u00a0 The owner reported he did a walk-through of the house with the student on the phone determining that the only items taken were two sets of car keys to vehicles parked in the driveway.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

The owner of the house secured the residence and called Crime Check to report the burglary. Later this afternoon the owner of the house conducted another check of the residence and discovered one of the vehicles gone.\u00a0 He called the GU student and confirmed the vehicle as stolen.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n

Here are some important steps you can take to help protect your property:<\/span><\/p>\n

* Make sure all of your exterior lights are working.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Recommend installation of motion activated exterior lights.<\/span><\/p>\n

* Report suspicious persons and activities immediately to 911.<\/span><\/p>\n

If you encounter a subject in your residence, do not attempt to confront them. Go to a safe place and call 911.<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Please notify Campus Security of such incidents as soon as possible at 313-2222 so that others in the neighborhood can be alerted.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
