Although many higher education insitutions are cutting budgets here and there, this opportunity was recently forwarded to me by a colleague.  Yes, the job is in Georgia.  But, if you are considering working in higher education maybe this is a good opportunity to get your foot in the door.

Georgia Southern University is currently recruiting for an Activities Coordinator-Orientation & Parent Program with the Office of Student Activities.

Position Summary:

  • Provides assistance to the Assistant Director of Admissions in all aspects of planning, developing, and implementing all New Student Orientation, Parent Orientation, and Family Weekends.
  • Major responsibilities include planning and implementing the summer and pre-semester SOAR programs for first-year students, parents, and transfers which requires coordination of all divisions of the University.
  • Planning and implementing First Night Out at the RAC and Kids College; recruiting, selecting, training, and managing SOAR leaders and undergraduate and graduate interns; designing and preparing publications.

Minimum Experience Required: One or more years of work related experience; proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Applications software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; effective communication (verbal and written), organization and human relations skills; ability to provide customer service; ability to work well in a diverse environment; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.

The Purple Turtle ,  a Spokane firm specializing in marketing, branding as well as special events, is looking for an intern for 20 hours per week. The Intern will primarily focus on social media marketing campaigns, event planning, various client and internal projects and assistance to other staff as needed.  They are looking for Business (Marketing/Advertising) or Public Relations/Communication graduates.

There is possibility of the internship developing into a full-time position, if the fit is there.

Recently the Federal Bureau of Invesitagtion forwarded a lead to our office for  Staff Operations Specialist positions. The requirements are as follows:

  • Applicant must be a recent graduate (within the last two years)
  • Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Applicant must be a United States Citizen
  • Applicant must be able to obtain a TS-SCI clearance
  • Applicant must successfully pass the FBI background investigation to include compliance with the FBI drug policy.

Serving as a member of the Field Intelligence Group (FIG), you will provide direct support to Special Agents and Intelligence Analysts as the team works detailed cases and projects. In this important role, you perform a broad range of complex operational/administrative functions to include assessing case developments, recommending appropriate action, preparing/presenting oral briefings and written reports, and researching informational leads for credibility/value.

The FBI seeks proactive candidates with a solid understanding of data collection methodologies/techniques; strong analytical skills; and current knowledge of military, economic, cultural, geographic, and socio-economic conditions around the world.

Must possess the ability to learn the FBI’s various computerized database systems, and have exceptional strategic reasoning and superior communication skills.
