Desautel Hege Communications is seeking an Fall Intern for their communications firm lasting one semester for approximetly 20 hours per week ($8.55 per hr), with flexibility for class schedules.

Requirements:

  • Must possess strong writing, verbal and organizational skills
  • Must possess a positive attitude and exhibit professional behaviors
  • Requires knowledge and experience with standard Windows software (i.e., Power Point, Word, Excel and MS Outlook)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide support on client account work
  • Assist in organizing office materials, files and client information
  • Provide front desk and phone coverage as needed (during staff meetings/trainings)
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Work with Partners, Account Directors, Account Executives, and Account Coordinators to implement campaign elements
  • Assist with all aspects of account activities as required
  • Work independently and as a team member
  • Find ways to support the team

Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Writing, Research, Editing and proofreading (accuracy and spelling)
  • Print bids
  • Media buy research and tracking
  • Report compilation and generation
  • Database management
  • Proposal preparation
  • Vendor coordination
  • Project coordination and assistance

Internship Job Description

Requirements:

  • Must be enrolled in a four-year college or university
  • Must possess strong writing, verbal and organizational skills

  • Requires knowledge and experience with standard Windows software (i.e., Power Point, Word, Excel and MS Outlook)

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide general office support consisting of: filing, scanning, data entry, preparing thank you letters to donors, mail prep, answering affiliate e-mails and phone calls
  • Assist with all aspects of health fairs, national cause marketing and third party events (some travel may be required)
  • Assist with various fundraising and education events, including the Race for the Cure
  • Assist in organizing office materials and literature
  • Support administrator, board members, race committee as needed

Time Commitment: 6 months, 4-8 hours per week.

JOB SUMMARY: Provide staff support for an annual fundraising program that results in the sale of 1 million dollars in gross sales with a net contribution of $700,000 for local youth programs for youth involved in the Boy Scouts of America

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1.      Marketing Campaign Management:

  • Work with sales staff to track progress in securing unit participation and involvement in the sale.
  • Provide weekly updates to sales staff.
  • Assist in maintaining database of key point of contact for each participating group.

2.      Ideal Year of Scouting Program Planning

  • Work with 6 target units to help them develop an annual program budget and develop sales strategies that assist them in achieving their goals.
  • Provide specific communications to 40 target units that have been identified as having the greatest sales potential to promote their involvement in specialized training sessions.

3.      Email Marketing and Web Management

  • Develop and manage email marketing strategies using Constant Contact to promote involvement in campaign and to educate participating group.
  • Update and enhance existing web page with resources to support the campaign and help groups obtain their goals.

MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT USED:
Various computer programs including Microsoft Office, (Excel, Word, Power Point, Access) National ScoutNet, printers, and skill to operate copiers, folding machine, and FAX machine.
