– Pilot Intern supports Flight Operations Departments as assigned
– Conducting Navigational Data Integrity Checks
– Tracking Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) and Preconditioned Air (PCA) Unit fuel consumption
– Organizing and managing airport data for the Runway Awareness Advisory System (RAAS)
– Working with ETOPS flight plans and O-53 assignments
– Contacting individuals through email/phone calls
– Collecting ETOPS data and creating excel spreadsheets and produce reports
– Review fuel consumption and factors related to fuel burn rate
– Assist with Class II Navigational Compliance for plotting charts and flight plans
– Assisting in coordinating RNP validation and demonstration flights
– Documenting changes to navigational charts
– Organizing and analyzing arrival and departure data for use in Required Navigational Performance (RNP) procedure design
– Updating navigational chart binders and company manuals
– Verifying 10-7 airport information
– Assist with engineering projects related to weight/balance or performance analysis
– Assist with filing, updating manuals, or other documents/materials
– Assist with pilot training development
– Observe pilot/flight deck operations through jumpseat/simulator
– Attend various meetings and assist with pilot training classes/materials
– Research and provide information to aid in making accurate decisions and/or providing information to others
– Other duties as assigned

– High school diploma or equivalent required
– Must be at least 18 years old
– Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
– Pilot background (pursuing degree in aviation field with pilot component) required
– Self-motivated, dependable and enthusiastic preferred
– Strong written and oral communication skills preferred
– Strong organizational skills preferred
– Leadership skills preferred
– Strategic thinking and analytical skills preferred
– Attentive to detail preferred
– Able to learn on the fly preferred
– Able to work independently or collaboratively preferred
– Able to maintain effective working relationships with internal/external customers preferred
– Pilot background preferred (pursuing degree in aviation field) preferred
– Proficient with Microsoft Office software preferred
– Familiar with pilot charts (Jeppesen charts) preferred
– Internship positions are open to graduate and undergraduate students enrolled in a full time course of study to which they will be returning in the fall quarter following their internship
