The Idaho Conservation League seeks an outgoing candidate for our Summer 2015 internship program based out of Sandpoint, Idaho. The intern will assist with public outreach to build support for conservation in North Idaho.

  • The Idaho Conservation League is Idaho’s leading voice for conservation, representing over 25,000 supporters.
  • Since 1973, the Idaho Conservation League has been Idaho’s voice for clean water, clean air and wilderness—values that are the foundation for Idaho’s extraordinary quality of life.
  • The Idaho Conservation League works to protect these values through public education, outreach, advocacy and policy development.
  • Our North Idaho field office is located in Sandpoint, Idaho, at the foot of the wild Selkirk Mountains and on the shores of Lake Pend Oreille. Sandpoint is known for its friendliness and passion for art, music and the outdoors.
  • Duties: The North Idaho Intern will administer the Idaho Conservation League’s summer outdoor adventure series, assist with volunteer recruitment and coordination for the Clark Fork River Delta restoration project and stewardships projects at Priest Lake and elsewhere, carry out a bike/pedestrian traffic count project to support a popular trail campaign, help organize and publicize outreach events, assist with
    research as needed, and help with data entry and other administrative duties.
  • Skills and Qualifications: The ideal intern candidate will enjoy working with others and be comfortable working independently; have strong writing, computer and research skills; strong organizational and people skills; and an ability to pay attention to details.
    Internship duration, hours and compensation: The internship is 10 weeks in length, June through August, for 20 hours per week, including some weekends and evenings. Stipend is available.
