Marketing and Community Engagement Intern

Inland Northwest Community Foundation (INWCF)

Inland Northwest Community Foundation is seeking applicants for the INWCF – Washington Trust Bank Fellow position. This one-semester paid fellowship will focus on strategies to assess and communicate the impact of INWCF’s grant making initiatives in 20 counties of Eastern Washington and North Idaho.

The ideal student-fellow will be:

Duties where the student-fellow may assist:

  • plan and execute a social media strategy that communicates INWCF’s mission via Facebook
  • plan and execute press outreach and assist with media monitoring
  • design and execute plan for understanding and sharing grant making results
  • participate in activities to identify community needs and donor interests
  • plan and execute outreach to community organizations
  • create/update pages for the INWCF website
  • coordinate and participate in other collaborative staff projects

Eligibility and Skill Requirements

  • junior-levelstandingorabove
  • minimum 3.4 GPA
  • demonstrated engagement/leadershipinstudentcampusactivities (service, leadership roles, clubs, residence  hall leadership, athletics, GSBA)
  • excellentwritten and verbal communication skills
  • excellent internet research skills
  • organized, self-motivated and able to work independently on projects
  • Comfort with content creation technology—intern will use social media, post content on INWCF’s website, and may have occasional opportunities for photographing, video shooting.
  • an interest in understanding and advancing the work of INWCF as a partner with communities throughout its service region
  • marketing and/or PR experience is beneficial, but not required for this internship

The student-fellow will gain experience with:

  • Making recommendations(writtenandverbal) baseduponresearchthatcouldpositivelyinfluenceINWCFprograms
  • Collaborativeengagement through interactionwithINWCF departmentheads (andpotentiallyFoundationBoard/Committees)

Hours and Compensation:

Work hours are flexible and will range from 1- to 15 hours per week. Compensation is $12/hour..

iSchool Inclusion Institute’s summer internship & research program – application now open!

Applications for the iSchool Inclusion Institute (i3) summer internship and research program are now open.

Undergraduate students of all majors are encouraged to apply.

i3 is held each year in June at the University of Pittsburgh and includes two summer institutes and a year-long team research project. Students are immersed in special-topics workshops, professional development seminars, research projects, and network-building opportunities.

i3 Scholars receive full funding for travel and housing as well as a $50 per day stipend for their continued participation. Upon completion of the program, i3 Scholars are eligible for scholarship opportunities at select graduate schools in the United States.
