Over 5,000 college and university students, more than half from outside the United States, come to New York City for the National Model UN Conference each spring to discuss current global issues. Delegates come prepared to solve three pressing issues relevant to 21 simulated UN committees. Outside conference sessions, delegations enjoy the proximity to Permanent Missions to the UN, the United Nations itself, as well as world class museums, architecture, shows, restaurants and shopping. NMUN’s premiere conference is held with UN Headquarters as a backdrop.

The Gonzaga delegation was assigned to represent Burundi in simulations, and were able to meet the African nation’s Ambassador to United Nations, Ambassador Albert Shingiro.
