GUTV, a production of the College’s Broadcasting Program, received four nominations and two wins at last weekend’s National Academy of Television Arts & Screen Northwest College Awards for Excellence, the College Emmy’s.
DanaMarie McNicholl-Carter ’17 was awarded Top Talent in the region, and the entire Broadcasting 469 class won Best Newscast for their half-hour special, ‘Hope for the Homeless’.
Broadcast Program Director Dan Garrity says, “I’m especially grateful we won for that particular show, since I think [it] truly represents the Gonzaga difference. It was a collaboration with and celebration of Catholic Charities’ efforts to combat homelessness in Spokane. I’ve known how good these students are for a long time, but it’s so refreshing to see their work recognized by such a prestigious organization.”
