A GUided Hemmingson Tour — Your Way

The mission of Gonzaga begins with at statement that says: “Gonzaga University is an exemplary learning community that educates students for lives of leadership and service for the common good.”

The brand new John J. Hemmingson University Center does just that.

Last week GUide Core had the opportunity to take a tour of this breathtaking facility. In this article, we would like to GUide you through what our eyes saw and hearts felt.

“It’s hard to pick one thing that caught my eye…when you walk in you feel the enthusiasm beyond that of a kid in a candy shop, because this particularly sweet spot was designed with “me” in mind. The best kind of candy shop is one with all of your friends, and they’ll all be there. It’s beyond impressive that way.” –Grace Savinovich

This sweet building, pun intended, is one that offers opportunities for growth, not only for each student, but also for faculty, staff, and visitors alike.

“I am looking forward to the new culture that Hemmingson will create on campus.” – Micayla Strickland

There is something  m a g i c a l about this building.

“I am really excited about the interactive wall. I think it is a really great opening to Hemmingson and has a lot of potential to connect generations of Zags.” –Julia Snider

Not only did GUide core feel overjoyed to finally experience Hemmingson on this tour itself, but more so than that we are looking forward to spending our last year here as Zags in such a remarkable dwelling.

There is much more to this building than words can even describe and we await the grand opening.

“I am excited to learn more about the efficiency of the building.” – Yachana Bhakta

Perhaps the grooviest thing GUide Core found in our tour of Hemmingson was that this incoming class gets to experience a whole new Gonzaga, in the BEST way possible.

Besides being arguably the most beautiful building on campus, it is an environment in which the Gonzaga community can feel entirely encompassed and involved.

Walking through the Hemmingson was like nothing I’d ever done before. It was like travelling through space to an entirely new and improved domain.

Oh, and the Grand Ballroom wasn’t too bad either.
