At Gonzaga, your first semester course schedule is constructed for you by professional advisors in the Office of Academic Advising and Assistance (AAA) or the School of Business, depending on your intended field of study. We enroll students for their first semester to ensure they are enrolled in the right courses, based on transfer credits, giving students the best possible start towards meeting graduation goals. This is an interactive process between students and advisors, where students have input into the creation of their first semester schedules, and can ask questions and request changes at any time.
Each schedule will be unique to the student’s enrollment needs, and graduation goals. Credit loads will vary depending on your chosen field of study but will likely be between 15 and 18 semester credits. At Gonzaga, full-time student status is 12 – 18 credits.
Students pursuing a major in the School of Business will discuss their transfer credits with a Business advisor prior to or during enrollment for their spring term. All other students will work with a professional advisor in AAA on the creation of their first semester schedules. When schedules are complete, some students will then be transitioned off to Faculty Advisors within their fields of study. More information about advisor assignment will be sent prior to New Student Orientation.
If you have questions about the enrollment process, Gonzaga degree requirements, or anything related, please contact the professional advising team in AAA at advise@gonzaga.edu, or 509-313-4072.
