Welcome to Gonzaga,
As a new transfer, veteran, or returning adult student, we know that your challenges and opportunities with making the transition to university life are sometimes different than the traditional-age freshman. The Transfer, Veteran, and Returning Adult services office takes pride in being a central point of information and with providing you with the opportunity and resources to address any question and/or concern you may have about being a returning adult student at Gonzaga University. Our office is committed to supporting and encouraging your higher education journey. We can connect you not only to the campus and other returning adult students, but to the surrounding community as well. We value and appreciate the skills, talent, and knowledge that you bring to Gonzaga University! Stop by and say hi! Our office is located in Hemmingson 313.
The Transfer, Veteran, and Returning Adult Services office provides critical service and support for our veterans, active-duty, National Guard, and Reserve military personnel, their spouses and dependents. Our office assists our veterans’ transition back into civilian life as they learn to navigate the university system. We support the unique recruitment, retention, and educational needs of students whose lives are inextricably connected to the military.
Returning to school or starting college after time away from being a student can be daunting and scary. Family and friends may not understand the reasons behind your desire to continue your education. Maintaining a balance in life between classes, studying, family, and work is a challenge and can be stressful. Being able to sit down with family and friends to discuss why you want to return to or start college is important. Knowing why you are furthering your education can help those in your life to understand and be better able to support you.
The Transfer, Veteran, and Returning Adult office is here to support you, too! In our office you will find a dedicated staff that can help you navigate the university system and connect you with the support services available at Gonzaga. You can also find secured lockers, a computer and printer, refrigerator, microwave, Keurig coffee pot, and a quiet place to hang out and meet other returning adult, transfer, and veteran students. Don’t miss out on the Transfer, Veteran, and Returning Adult student luncheons! They are offered every couple weeks and are a great way to meet other transfer, veteran, and returning adult students and grab a free lunch! Our first lunch of the semester is January 19, 2015 from 12:05 pm-1:00 pm in Hemmingson 314A.
Hope to see you there!
Go Zags!
