Our Blog

As we welcome the new freshman for the 2012-13 school year, I would like to also welcome our newest member of the Career Center & GAMP team, Brittany Leland.  Last Spring, our former Manager of Employer and Alumni Relations, Belinda Bobko moved to Wales after getting married.  She did a wonderful job of building relationships with parents, launching the Hire A Zag campaign and organizing Treks, excursions and career fairs.  We wish her well in her new life abroad with her husband.  We feel fortunate to have Brittany with us to carry on the important work.  Brittany has been hard at work this summer, setting up excursions for the Treks in Spokane, Seattle, Portland and the Bay area, recruiting companies for our career fairs, speed mock interviews and connect programs.  We all enjoy her new energy, passion for serving students and her bright smile.   As you can see from her introduction below, she is a true Zag with the abilities and skills needed to expand our internship and full time opportunities for students and alumni.  Please reach out to Brittany and welcome her as she has many engagement options for parents in all locations.  The Career Center and GAMP look forward to our best year ever as we celebrate 125 years of Gonzaga University.

My name is Brittany Leland and I am the Manager of Employer and Alumni Relations for the Gonzaga Career Center & GAMP office. My job is to create connections with parents, employers and alumni so that we can provide outstanding opportunities all across the country for Zags. I graduated from Gonzaga with my undergraduate degree in Applied Communication in 2008 and went to work in human relations in Denver, CO for two years. Then it was back to Gonzaga to earn my master’s degree in School Counseling. I love working with students and alumni to help them prepare for the job market using timely tips and feedback from our employers so that Zags stand out as strong candidates for internships and full time positions. I believe that Gonzaga students and alumni make some of the best employees and employers around, and having a career where my role is to help make employment connections is fantastic!
