Fall 2015 Bulldog Bucks will be “The Way ZAGS Pay”

By Pat Faulkinberry

Last year the University took over managing the Bulldog Bucks program. Bulldog Bucks is an optional declining balance account where available funds can be spent at on and off campus participating Bulldog Bucks locations. We had a successful year but knew there was room to improve and grow.

Providing a variety of dining options has always been the primary focus of adding new Bulldog Bucks locations, but beginning this fall Bulldog Bucks is expanding beyond food, Bulldog Bucks will become “The Way ZAGS Pay”. On our campus CASHNet is the system which processes debit and credit card transactions and then post sales to the appropriate departmental budget. Bulldog Bucks will be offered as a payment option wherever CASHNet Cashiering is used to process a sale. Whether it is to pay for GU Outdoors adventures or library fines Bulldog Bucks will be accepted.

In addition, Bulldog Bucks can also be spent at all Zag Dining locations across campus, select beverage machines and at off campus participating locations. To view a complete list visit of participating locations visit www.gonzaga.edu/zagcard and click on the Bulldog Bucks Welcomed Here tab.

The account is a great budgeting tool and because available funds are verified at the time of purchase there will never be an overdraft fee. Unlike Dining Dollars, which are cleared at the end of the academic year, Bulldog Bucks do not expire and roll over from year to year.

Feel good about spending Bulldog Bucks, it is a convenient way to “give back” to the University. A percentage of nearly every sale is returned to the University.

Anyone can make a deposit to Bulldog Bucks, as long as they know the GU ID number of the recipient.

How to make a deposit:

Guest Deposit: Visit www.gonzaga.edu/zagcard, select Make a Deposit to Bulldog Bucks, click on Guest Deposit.

From a Refund: Visit www.gonzaga.edu/zagcard, select Make a Deposit to Bulldog Bucks, click on the print request form to submit to Student Accounts.

It is important for students to manage their ZAGCARD. If your student misplaces their ZAGCARD they should immediately FREEZE it in Zagweb. This will stop the card from working until it is found or replaced. If found it can be UNFROZEN. If the card has been lost the student will need to pay the replacement fee and visit the Student Accounts Office to have a new card printed.

Your student can view their Bulldog Bucks, Dining Dollar and meal plan balances as well as transaction history in Zagweb under the Student Services & Fin Aid tab by clicking on the ZAGCARD link.
