‘Tis the season for completing your student’s 2017-2018 FAFSA and thinking about funding opportunities for the upcoming academic year! Although it may seem early, many scholarship deadlines are fast approaching or will round the corner before you know it. Now is a great time to encourage your student to look for scholarship opportunities. To get you started, here are a few upcoming scholarship opportunities:

The Alumni Office offers a scholarship to children, grandchildren or siblings of alumni. Annual scholarship awards range from $2,500 – $15,000. Eligibility requirements are listed on the webpage; general eligibility qualifications include current enrollment with a minimum of 12 credits earned and a current FAFSA on file.

The Mary Stuart Rogers scholarship is open to currently enrolled full-time students entering or in their junior or senior year. Requirements include: application, essay, 2 letters of recommendation, minimum 3.0 GPA and financial need. Other requirements and the application process can be found on our webpage.

Three scholarship opportunities are available for Washington State residents through the College Success Foundation. Please review the website for further information.

Applications open January 3, 2017 and close February 28, 2017:

    • WA State Opportunity Scholarship:
      • Annual awards from $2,500 – $7,500; renewable up to 5 years
      • Eligible to those students in STEM studies (see criteria for more information) with 2.75 GPA or above with 2017-2018 FAFSA on file; income requirements as well.
    • Leadership 1000 Scholarship:
      • Annual awards range from $1,500 – $5,000
      • Eligibility requirements include WA state residency, current FAFSA on file, income threshold, GPA of 2.75 or above and full-time enrollment.
    • Governors’ Scholarship for Foster Youth:
      • Annual awards range from $2,000 – $4,000
      • General eligibility requirements include WA state residency, current FASFA on file and 2.0 GPA or above.

The Office of Financial Aid maintains a database of outside scholarships open to our students. Families are encouraged to continually review this site, as we update this resource year round.
