A Group Exercise
Exercise about how the group works together to know things:
Fill a box with 28-36 items and give students three seconds each to look into the box. Then ask them to return to their seats and write down as many things as they can remember. Most will be able to remember only few. Next, have the students get into groups and allow them to look into the box for another 3 seconds. Then ask them to work together to list the items in the box. Groups will be able to do much better than individuals. The analogy is that alone we cannot know everything but together we can know much. Also, the professor cannot be the expert on everything.
