Who We Are

On this page, you will find a variety of activities that create and help manage productive discomfort in the classroom.

The Center for Teaching and Advising Productive Discomfort cohort is a group of faculty and staff who work together to create a classroom environment that is safe for everyone and where deep learning can occur.

The group works on both reaction and actions around difficult issues in the classroom. This includes responding when an inappropriate comment is made  as well as creating a classroom environment where it is safe to discuss sensitive topics.

The group discusses campus climate, university mission, and their own experiences with discomfort in the classroom. The notes and experiences from our discussions are provided on this blog.
