Construction Services is seeking a Contract Surety Bond Underwriter Trainee to join our Federal Way, WA Regional Home Office team. Completion of our Trainee program opens opportunities for positions throughout the Travelers Company.  Through a structured training program, the trainee learns about our underwriting philosophy, business unit products and strategies, principles of negotiation, and relationship building.

A Surety Bond guarantees the performance of a contractor and completion of a construction contract for public and private owners.  Training develops leadership, sales, underwriting and management skills.  You will learn financial analysis, how to underwrite and manage accounts, assess risk, make credit decisions, produce new business, and build relationships with agents and contractors.  The surety industry is both challenging and rewarding.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Observe and work with underwriters, risk control representatives, and claim representatives to become familiar with the functions of these positions and how they interact and work with one another

Develop critical underwriting skills, through classroom, independent, and on-the-job training, including analysis of exposures, determination of appropriate insurance coverage and conditions.

Gather and review information on financial conditions, risk exposures, loss history, and economic trends that may affect the type of insurance coverage provided

Establish, support, and maintain effective relationships with customers, agents and brokers

Education / Work Experience
The ideal candidate for the development program will desire a position that is both analytical and marketing-oriented. A bachelors degree is required for this position.  Preferred majors include Risk Management & Insurance, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or equivalent work experience.  Students with prior related intern experience and 3.0 GPA are also preferred.

Spokane, WA–With Opening Night fast approaching, the Spokane Indians are looking for outgoing, energetic, and fun-loving fans to join their game day staff for the 2012 season. The Indians have a wide variety of positions available and offer a great work environment.The 2012 game day job fair will take place at Avista Stadium on April 14th from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m

“The Indians have a long history of outstanding customer service and that starts with our game day employees,” said Senior Vice President Otto Klein. “Many of our full-time staff members began as game day employees, so these jobs are a great opportunity to start a career in the sports industry.”

Positions available for the 2012 season include: servers, bartenders, hawkers, concessionaires, team store members, ticket takers, bat boys, maintenance, press box, section leaders, and greeters.

The job fair includes a 30-minute tour of Avista Stadium from members of the Indians full-time staff, which will include descriptions of the available positions. Following the stadium tour, applicants with a resume will be able to sign up for an interview, which will be conducted the day of or the following week depending on availability.
