If you’re confused as to where to start, check out our “Career Center Bucket List” and knock these items off of your list before you graduate from GU!

  1. Make an appointment on ZagTrax or use our drop-in hours (M-Th, 2-5pm). During these appointments, you can begin building you résumé or cover letter or have an employee or Career Center Representative look over a current résumé or cover letter. You can also ask any questions you may have about your major, internship or job search or professional development in general.
  2. Order business cards. It’s $5 for 100 cards, so really how can you not take advantage? They’re extremely professional looking + necessary for networking.
  3. Get linked with GAMP Mentors. You can find fellow Zag graduates in the city of your choice + in the field of your choice or company you choose. The process is extremely simple — and worth it!
  4. Search for jobs on ZagTrax. There are tons of internships and jobs just waiting for students to apply, so take advantage now!
  5. Go on a Trek. We visit New York, Seattle, Spokane, Portland and the Bay Area. You get to visit a company from our list of exceptional companies we visit on each trek + network with employees.

Scafco Corporation is looking for a Communications and Marketing Intern (ZagTrax Job Posting # 12255)

Seeking a current student in business, marketing, or related field for a paid internship. Duties include working alongside the Executive Director of Spokane Ponderosa to assist with media relations, external communications and new media campaigns.
Will be responsible for creating high quality PDF clips of articles, producing media reports, distributing press releases and other media materials. Will need to take a lead role in developing Spokane Ponderosa online presence via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and other media venues. Need to be proficient in generating story ideas and content for the printed newsletter and social media.
The successful candidate will be highly organized and detail-oriented with an interest in media and communications. Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience using Microsoft Office to manipulate and report on data. Advanced research skills using online and print resources preferred.
Has to be able to work 10 plus hrs/week during school term. Will work around your schedule, hours of operation are M-F, 8-5pm.

Partnership in Employment Career Fair Workshops

The 2014 Bay Area Treks

If you haven’t heard yet, registration for the 2014 Bay Area Treks is now open on ZagTrax! During the Thursday and Friday of Spring Break, we visit Silicon Valley and San Francisco companies. Silicon Valley Trek: $35, ($60 for both Silicon Valley and San Francisco)

All Students meet at 10:00 AM at Santa Clara University (in front of the Mission Chapel) 500 El Camino Real, Santa Clara, CA on Thursday, March 13. Charter buses will depart to corporate excursion sites promptly at 10:30am. Students have the option of meeting Career Center Staff in San Francisco and riding our charter bus to Santa Clara.
