This year the Gonzaga University School of Law embarked on its first annual Law Firm Challenge. Firms engaged in friendly competition to try to reach 100% participation in alumni giving.
Sponsored by the Law School Alumni Association, the Law Firm Challenge was created to give alumni an opportunity to remain involved with their alma mater, to promote meaningful participation in the life of the school, and to improve alumni and firm annual giving participation.
The structure of the Challenge was simple. We asked that you, as an alum, support the School of Law through an individual gift to the Law School Annual Campaign. Your gift could be directed toward:
- Law School Annual Fund
- Student Scholarships
- University Legal Assistance
- Thomas More Scholarship Program
The Challenge ran November 1, 2009 – May 31, 2010
However, any gift directed to the School of Law received during the university’s fiscal year, June 1–May 31, was counted in The Challenge. Participation by individual alumni within each firm was used to calculate the overall participation percentages for the firm.
And the results:
Spokane winners (it was a tie for 100% participation):
- Delay, Curran, Thompson, Pontarolo & Walker
- Sayre and Sayre
Seattle winner with 75% participation:
- Patterson Buchanan Fobes Leitch & Kalzer
