Claire Fritts (’16) wasn’t sure what direction she wanted to go with her college education, but she knew right away that Gonzaga was the place to do it. She chose Gonzaga for the sense of community, school spirit, and academic programs. Plus, she immediately felt at home on campus. She worked together with the University to develop her passion for helping others, which set her on a path toward a future in nursing – a field that inspires her every day.
“I want to grow up and feel like I made a difference in someone’s life,” said Fritts, “which ultimately is my goal in life”.
Fritts’ favorite Gonzaga experience was the opportunity she was given to study abroad. Studying in Florence allowed her to broaden her view of the world and all that is has to offer. That experience inspired her to work toward becoming a traveling nurse after graduation. She would like to work in places that don’t have good healthcare systems in order to improve their systems and overall health.
Without the scholarships Claire received, she would be unable to attend Gonzaga and pursue a career that helps those who need it most.
“I know I am at a school and in a place that makes me happy,” Fritts said. “It allows me to follow my dreams and has given me opportunities I might not have had at another college.”
