For Amy Hansen (’16), choosing Gonzaga was an easy decision to make for many reasons. First, she loved the community atmosphere campus gave and how it made school feel like home. Second, she liked the idea of small class sizes and the ability to build personal relationships with her professors. Lastly, she was able to see how much her sister loved going to Gonzaga and how much she grew as a person.
Hansen developed a passion for special education during her time at Gonzaga. She enjoyed helping people with disabilities feel empowered to be stronger. After graduation, she plans on getting her graduate degree in functional analysis from Gonzaga. Once she has completed the program, she then plans to go into behavioral therapy for kids with disabilities. Without her scholarships, Hansen would not have been able to attend Gonzaga and pursue her dream of helping those with disabilities.
“My scholarship means a lot to my family,” Hansen said. “It has allowed me to continue my higher education at a prominent university. It has given me the chance to have a cultural experience and my family is truly grateful. Thank you for your generous gift to help support me and the amazing students at Gonzaga because without you and your donations, Gonzaga would not be the school it is.”
