One of them is this: &#8220;If an organization&#8217;s actions do not match its mission statement, either the actions or the mission statement need to change.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, it is appropriate to begin blogging with the mission statement of Gonzaga&#8217;s School of Business. This is the statement that guides all our actions. It is our promise to students, parents, and the community about what our work means.<\/p>\n<p>The mission statement of the Gonzaga School of Business:<\/p>\n<p>We develop professionally competent and intellectually curious graduates who exemplify the humanistic, ethical, and moral values of a Jesuit institution. We provide a challenging and supportive learning environment, with quality students and faculty marking our excellence. As part of a global environment, we promote relationships with regional, national, and international business and scholarly communities.<\/p>\n<p>As always, the faculty and staff of the School of Business will measure their actions against this mission and ask the question: Is this mission central?<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As a management professor, there are certain mantras that I repeat to students every semester.
