Andrew Brajcich, Jud Regis Chair of Accounting, will serve as moderator, beginning by asking about Dan’s years managing the Northwest offices of Price Waterhouse, where he built the foundation of financial rigor and client relationships that later shaped his instincts as an investor, and then guiding the discussion into the pivotal decision he made in 1996 to step away from a stable partnership and enter venture capital. Dan will speak openly about what that transition really felt like, which skills carried over from accounting and which ones he had to learn from scratch, the biggest risks and lessons he picked up along the way, and how the values his father Jud instilled in him around family, faith, and education shaped both his business decisions and his philanthropy at Gonzaga. Following the moderated portion of the conversation, Dan will open the floor to questions from the audience, giving attendees the chance to engage directly and hear, in his own words, how a career built on precision and structure evolved into one built on vision and opportunity.

Giving with Purpose: Dan and Cecilia Regis on Family, Wealth, and Legacy
4-5 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, 2026 in Jepson 017

Dan and Cecilia Regis will join Gonzaga business students for a conversation on planned giving, drawing on their own experience as longtime donors and stewards of family wealth. The Regises will share how they have approached philanthropy throughout their lives, from funding college educations for more than 40 nieces, nephews, and grandchildren to establishing the Jud Regis Chair of Accounting and, most recently, directing a portion of their limited partnership interest to Gonzaga through their estate plans. Students will hear practical insight into how planned gifts work, including tools like charitable trusts, IRA rollovers, and business interest transfers, alongside the personal values and family history that have shaped the Regises’ giving over the years. The session is designed to give students a firsthand look at how thoughtful financial planning can align with purpose driven values, offering lessons relevant both to their future careers and to their own understanding of generosity and legacy.

Dan Regis Fireside Chat5-6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22 in Wolff Auditorium (Jepson 114) Dan Regis will join as guest speaker for a fireside chat, tracing his career from the disciplined, numbers driven world of public accounting into the higher risk, higher reward landscape of venture capital.
