Act Six brings together diverse, multicultural cadres of young people who want to use their college education to make a difference on campus and in their communities at home. Scholars are actively recruited from across the region and chosen through a rigorous, three-phase selection process.
At Gonzaga, we typically welcome eight Act Six students every year – four from the Spokane area and four from the west side of the state. Great care is given to ensure that this scholarship supports and develops urban community leaders, who cherish making an impact at Gonzaga and in their communities.
Many of the Act Six scholars at Gonzaga choose to study away from campus during their time in the program, which greatly helps to supplement their cultural identity and understanding. In turn, this helps their development as leaders.
The purpose of this blog is to facilitate open lines of communication between the Act Six scholars who are studying away from campus, their peers studying on campus who may decide to study away, potential Act Six students that have yet to be accepted to the program, parents, and others.
