It’s that simple (to stop thefts from vehicles)
We’re seeing a pretty significant number of vehicles being broken into, mostly out in the neighborhood. The common factor in these thefts is the visible presence of “incentives”: cash, CD’s, Ipods, purses, wallets, checkbooks, backpacks, laptops.
Remember, most “vehicle prowlers” will check your vehicle for these incentives first, then break in – not the other way around. If you want to reduce your chance of having your car broken into, remove the incentive. Take enticing items with you if you can. At least conceal them (for example, put them in your trunk) if you can’t.
It’s that simple.
