Assault on Kardong Bridge

On March 17th at around midnight, several male students were walking on the Kardong Bridge (the bridge that crosses the Spokane River just west of the Law School) on their way back to campus.  Several individuals believed to be non-students walked toward them and started taunting the students and challenged them to fight.  The students advised the non-student group that they did not want to fight.  The non-students proceeded to assault the students by punching them.  The students were able to get away and call Spokane Police and Campus Security.   The non-students are described to be caucasian males between the ages of 18 and 22.  One of the non-students was approximately 6′ tall wearing a plaid jacket.  They were last seen northbound on Division Street and Springfield. The students reported minor injuries and declined medical assistance.

As a reminder to our GU community, please remember that SAFE RIDE and Campus Security are available to you.  Walk in well-lit areas and if you are approached by a person or group like the above mentioned, keep walking, ignore the comments, and call the Spokane Police at 911 or Campus Security at 313-2222 right away so we can assist in getting you home safe and deter any criminal activity.
