Former GU Student Arrested in Campus Incident Friday

Today at about noon, a former Gonzaga student was arrested for malicious mischief and a weapon violation outside a university residence hall.  He had returned to campus after an incident earlier in the morning at the same residence hall involving damage to Gonzaga property.  An alert Campus Security Officer observed the former student upon his return and advised other officers. Campus Security officers called for Spokane Police Department assistance and then contacted and detained the former student. During a search, they found he was carrying a concealed handgun.  Spokane Police Department officers arrived shortly thereafter. He was trespassed from the Gonzaga campus and transported to the Spokane County jail.  A police investigation is on-going.
