Incidents of Interest to the Gonzaga Community
October 31
SPD and Gonzaga security responded to a report that the residents of an apartment at Kennedy were shining a laser at people. The student residents were identified and the case forwarded to the Student Life Division for follow-up.
October 30
A Gonzaga student reported that her vehicle was entered sometime between October 27 at 8:15 AM and October 30 at 3:15 PM while it was parked in the 700 block of East Boone. Nothing appeared to be missing and there was no sign of forced entry.
Between 1:25 AM and 1:35 AM, several soda bottles were filled with dry ice and water and then sealed, causing them to explode near the exterior of Catherine Monica. The students responsible were identified and interviewed by Gonzaga Security and the case forwarded to the Student Life Division for follow-up.
October 28
A Gonzaga student reported the theft of her purse from an unsecured backpack on the 2nd floor of Rudolf Fitness Center while she was working out between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM on October 27.
October 26
A well-known theft suspect, who had been trespassed from campus twice in the last year, was arrested by Spokane Police in the Boone-Hamilton parking lot. He was transported to jail.
October 23
Sometime between October 20 at 3:30 Pm and October 23 at 12:30 PM, a Gonzaga student’s 1997 Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot behind Madonna Hall. Police recovered the vehicle in another part of town minus the stereo system.
A student reported her bike taken from the Coughlin Hall parking garage sometime between 4:00 Pm on October 22 and 6:00 PM on October 23. The U-lock she had used to secure her bike had been broken during an earlier theft attempt.
