SPD News Release : Robbery suspect arrested
| Spokane Police have been investigating a recent string of convenience store robberies. The first robbery occurred on March 26, 2011 at 10am, at 2025 North Hamilton. The next day, both the Zip Trip at 2005 N. Hamilton and the Broadway Mini Market at 10304 E. Broadway were robbed. Detectives reviewed all three reports and determined the suspect descriptions were the same in all three incidents.
On March 29, 2011, Spokane Police Officers Michele Madsen and Nick Geren received information regarding a possible suspect for these robberies and subsequently passed the details to Major Crimes Detectives. Based on follow-up investigation, probable cause was developed to arrest Joseph D. Maine (1/9/88) for these robberies. Last night, Maine was booked for three counts of First Degree Robbery. |
