Suspicious persons reported in area of previous off-campus assaults
On Thursday March 8, 2012 at 2:00 AM, a student reported he was walking alone in the area of Nora and Cincinnati when he observed two white males walking east on Nora. As he crossed Cincinnati the two men made comments and gestures towards the student and watched him for a few moments. One subject was described as 25-35 years of age, 6’2” – 6’5”, 220 – 230 lbs, bald, clean-shaven wearing dark clothing and a black hoodie. The other subject was described as 25 – 35 years of age, 5’10” – 5’11”, 160 – 170 lbs, with dark hair, scraggly beard wearing dark clothing and a black hoodie. The student returned safely to a friends house nearby. Because of recent incidents in the area, the student was encouraged to file a report with the Spokane Police Department.
Gonzaga community members are reminded of the following safety tips:
• If you have to walk, do so in groups especially after dark. Try to use well-lit, busy routes.
• Utilize Security escorts to travel across campus: 313-2222.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Report suspicious persons or circumstances immediately to GU Security (313-2222) or SPD (911).
• DO NOT confront persons who act or appear may become threatening.
