UPDATE: Spokane Police located and arrested three subjects for robbery and aggravated assault within an hour after the incident.

Three Gonzaga students reported they were walking northbound near Sinto and Standard this morning at about 2:10 AM when a vehicle pulled up and two females exited. The females demanded the purse of one of the students, and then took the purse by physical force and re-entered the vehicle. Two males then exited the vehicle and punched a male student. All of the subjects then fled in the vehicle.

Spokane Police and Gonzaga Security responded. Two students were treated for minor injuries at the scene. No weapons were reported. Police are actively investigating.

Gonzaga community members are reminded of the following safety tips:

• If you have to walk, do so in groups especially after dark. Try to use well-lit, busy routes. Be aware of your surroundings.
• Utilize Saferide or taxi service if you need a ride back to your residence from an off-campus location: call 568-8000.
• Utilize Security escorts to travel across campus: 313-2222.
• Report suspicious persons or circumstances immediately to GU Security (313-2222) or SPD (911).
• Once you are in safe place, report all crimes immediately to police at 911 and GU Security at 313-2222.
