August 24
Three male students were assaulted at about 1:40 AM in the 900 block of East Mission. The students reported that four males believed to be non-students assaulted them in the Safeway parking lot, punching and kicking them. The students were able to get away and call Spokane Police and Campus Security. The non-students are described to be a white male and 3 African-American males in a white 1990s sedan. The students were treated for injuries at a local hospital and released.

A GU Student reported that her friend’s vehicle was broken into while parked in the 400 block of East Mission between 4 AM and 4 PM on August 22. A laptop and camera were taken. There was no sign of forced entry. The Spokane Police Department was contacted.
An off-campus residential burglary was reported to GU Security. GU students reported that someone entered their residence in the 400 block of East Augusta while they were away between 9:30 PM and 11:30 PM on August 21. There was no sign of forced entry. Laptops, Ipods, checkbooks, and cash were taken.

The student stated that the door had been secured when she left on 081010 at 9:15 AM and found it standing open later at 12:15 PM. Nobody was found inside and nothing appeared to be missing.

The student saw a man in her yard and when she called out to him and asked who he was, he started walking toward her window. The unknown male left prior to Security and Law Enforcement showing up.

The bike’s owner saw a white male with a full face motorcycle helmet on attempting to cut the cable lock off of the bike. The owner chased the man toward the south side of the building but lost him.

GU Security received a report of malicious mischief from a Law School student. The student stated that sometime between 9:00 AM and 1:50 PM, unknown person(s) “keyed” the shape of a “V” on the hood of his 2003 Honda. This is the second time his car has been vandalised.
Two off-campus residential burglaries and an attempted burglary were reported to GU Security in the past few days.
One burglary occurred in the 300 block of East Nora sometime between midnight and 1:30 AM on July 31st. In this case a laptop and purse were taken. Entry was believed to have been made through an unlocked window while residents and their guests were upstairs.
The other occurred in the 1000 block of East Sinto sometime between midnight and 1:00 AM on July 30th, while a resident was of the house was sleeping. A Mac Book and Ipod were taken. There was no sign of forced entry.
The attempted burglary occurred at a GU-owned rental house in the 1000 block of East Boone sometime between 9:00 PM on July 30th and 1:00 AM on July 31st. In this case it appears that someone attempted to kick in the door of the unoccupied residence causing damage to the frame, but failing to gain entry.

GU Security responded to the area of 209 E Sinto in reference to a vehicle prowl. Nothing was taken but the driver’s side window had been broken out sometime between 050210 at 10:30 PM and 050310 at 5:30 AM.
Gonzaga Security was notified of an attempted burglary to a residence in the 500 block of East Sinto. A Gonzaga student and her boyfriend observed a subject open and reach into an egress window in a basement room of the residence. The person fled when they yelled at them.
The end of the semester is always a time of opportunity for thieves. Students are reminded to properly secure doors and windows, close drapes/blinds for privacy, and insure that you have proper lighting near entries. Remember not to leave valuables unsecured while you are moving out. Please report suspicious persons or circumstances IMMEDIATELY to the Spokane Police Department at 911 and Campus Security at 313-2222.
A 1994 Honda Accord was stolen from the north parking lot of the Sinto Apartments on 050510 at 7:00 AM. Unknown person(s) drove into the parking lot in a silver 4 door possibly an older Toyota Camry or Nissan Maxima, backed into a parking space next to the Honda, a person got into the Honda and both vehicles left the parking lot. Please contact SPD or Gonzaga Security at 313-2222 if you have any information about this theft.
