A burglary was reported to a off-campus residence rented by students in the 1800 block of North Lidgerwood. Entry was gained via a unsecured basement window. Several items including a stereo system, Wii, and jewelry were taken.
November 26
A student reported that his 1995 Honda Accord had been entered while parked in the Boone/Hamilton lot. The student had a steering wheel lock to prevent the vehicle from being stolen, and found no items missing from the vehicle.
November 24
A student reported that a window on her friend’s vehicle was broken while parked in the north parking lot of River Inn. Nothing was reported missing.
November 22
A Gonzaga student reported that his 1997 Honda Accord was stolen from a parking space near Dillon Hall. Spokane Police recovered the vehicle on November 25.

A student reported his bike was taken from a railing outside his residence in the 700 block of East Sharp. It had been secured with a chain lock.
A Gonzaga student reported his vehicle was entered and stereo components taken while parked at a friend’s residence in the 700 block of East Mission.
November 9
A student reported the theft of his black & silver Gary Fisher Wahoo bike from outside his apartment in the 200 block of East Sinto. It had been secured with a cable lock.
A Dooley resident spotted a suspected bike thief near the bike rack at Dooley. Campus security located the subject, who dumped the Mongoose bike he was riding and fled on foot near Superior and Desmet.
November 8
A student reported his gray Giant mountain bike stolen from the ramp near the front of Marian Hall. It had been secured with a cable lock.

A Gonzaga student reported that while she was walking alone across campus at about 2 AM this morning she observed a suspicious individual near College Hall going from tree to tree and hiding behind them as she walked. The student contacted Spokane Police, who contacted Gonzaga Security. Nobody was found during a search of the area. The student described the subject as male, about 5’9″, medium build, wearing all black including a hoodie.
Gonzaga community members are reminded of the following safety tips:
- If you have to walk, do so in groups especially after dark. Try to use well-lit, busy routes. Be aware of your surroundings.
- Utilize Saferide if you need a ride back to your residence from an off-campus location: call 568-8000.
- Utilize Security escorts to travel across campus: 313-2222.
- Report suspicious persons or circumstances immediately to GU Security (313-2222) or SPD (911).
- Once you are in safe place, report all crimes immediately to police at 911 and GU Security at 313-2222.

A Gonzaga student reported her blue & white Mongoose bike missing from where she had left it unlocked near the Dooley bike rack.
October 29
A Gonzaga student reported that somebody scratched her vehicle while it was parked on Boone Avenue near Twohy.
October 28
A Kennedy resident reported that her bike was taken from the bike rack near Duff’s. She had locked the front wheel with a U-lock to the rack. Only the front wheel remained.
October 26
A Gonzaga student reported that her GPS unit was missing from the dash board of her car parked in the Crimont parking lot. There was no sign of forced entry.

A student reported her car stereo was taken while the vehicle was parked in the 1000 block of East Sinto. A window was broken to gain access.
A student reported that her blue Giant bike was taken from a railing near the front of Marian Hall. It had been secured with a cable lock.

A student reported the theft of her bike from the porch of her residence in the 500 block of East Sharp. The U-lock she was using was still intact and secured to the porch.
October 20
A student reported that parts were stripped off his Gary Fisher bike while it was parked at a bike rack near the Boone Apartments.
A student’s purse was taken from her vehicle while parked near Marian Hall. The purse was later found, minus cash and credit cards, in the 400 block of East Sharp.

Early this morning Gonzaga Security responded to a report of a sexual assault at the Kennedy Apartments.
Spokane Police are actively investigating the report and have identified and interviewed all individuals involved. Spokane Police believe there is no continuing threat to the Gonzaga community.
The University is providing support to community members affected by this incident.
Personal safety is a top priority for the University. We encourage all community members to actively create a safe environment by insuring that building exterior doors are locked and secured. Lock apartment and room doors. Report any suspicious individuals IMMEDIATELY to Gonzaga Security at (509) 313-2222.

A student reported her blue Trek 4300 bike was missing from the bike rack near Duffs. The bike had been secured with a cable lock.

Gonzaga Security received a report of a male subject digitally stimulating himself outside a non-campus residence in the 500 block of East Indiana at 1:00 AM on October 12. The subject was highlighting his activity with a flashlight. Security was unable to locate the subject. No further description was available. A report was made with Spokane Police.
Gonzaga Security received similar reports on March 29th & 31st and August 18th of this year.

On October 6, 2011 at 11:30 a.m., a Spokane Community College (SCC) student reported to SCC Campus Security she was sexually assaulted on the SCC campus on October 5, 2011 approximately 10 a.m. The victim does not know the suspect.
The suspect is a white male in his early 20s with blonde hair, a skinny build and approximately 5’10” tall.
The suspect’s vehicle is reported to be a late 1990s or early 2000s silver 4-door Acura sedan.
Report any sighting of the suspect in or around the GU campus/Logan neighborhood to GU Security at 313-2222 or Spokane Police Department at immediately. Call 911 if an emergency or immediate assistance is needed.
We want all of our community members to be safe. Remember:
- If you have to walk, do so in groups especially after dark. Try to use well-lit, busy routes. Be aware of your surroundings.
- Walk confidently and with a purpose, observe those around you. If you notice someone hanging around acting suspiciously in or around a parking lot, go to an area where people are around.
- Park in highly visible, well-lit areas. Avoid parking near shrubbery or other areas obstructing your view. Use caution when walking past parked vehicle.
- Utilize Saferide if you need a ride back to your residence from an off-campus location: call 568-8000.
- Utilize Security escorts to travel across campus: 313-2222.

A Burch resident reported his vehicle had been entered and someone attempted to remove his stereo while it was parked on Lidgerwood. The faceplate was damaged, but nothing was found missing.
A Dooley resident reported the front and rear wheels taken from his gray Specialized bike while parked at the Dooley bike rack.

A student reported his laptop and backpack taken from his non-campus residence in the 200 block of East Sharp. Access was gained through an unlcoked window.
A subject was reported sleeping bewteen the entry doors at Coughlin Hall. Security contacted the non-student, identified and trespassed him, and directed him the Union Gospel Mission.

A friend of a student reported the theft of a laptop from her vehicle parked at an off-campus residence in the 1000 block of East Sinto. A window was broken to gain access.
September 18
A neighbor reported the theft of a piece of a metal gate and damage to a fence in the 1700 block of North Dakota.
September 17
A student reported her longboard missing from a classroom at Jepson.
September 16
A student reported damage to her vehicle while it was parked in the 1000 block of East Augusta.
A student reported seeing the shadow of a person outside her bedroom window at her off-campus residence in the 300 block of East Mission.
A GPS unit taken from a vehicle in the 400 block of East Mission. A window was broken to gain access.
September 14
A student reported his bike missing from the north Martin Center bike rack. It had been secured with a cable lock.

September 9
A student reported the theft of her Cannondale mountain bike from the bike rack at Twohy. It had been secured with a cable lock.
Another student reported the theft of her Specialized Vita Sport bike from the rack at Twohy. It had also been secured with a cable lock.
September 11
A student reported that while she was at the Don Kardong Bridge, a non-student threatened her with bodily harm if she looked at the non-student’s boyfriend again. The student was not injured and declined to contact Spokane Police. She was provided a security escort back to her residence hall.

A Dooley resident reported the theft of bike wheels from his bike while secured to the Dooley bike rack.

A student reported to Gonzaga Security he was traveling alone and on foot around 11:45 PM last night in the area of Lake Arthur and Jundt Museum. The Student reported a black male, 5’7″, 170 pounds with a thinly shaved beard riding a bicycle approached him, repeatedly asking for money. The student continued walking always telling the person no. The student stated as he approached Jepson, the person blocked his path with the bike, threatened violence, and again asked the student for money. The student was able to get away and contact GU security by utilizing the blue light phone located at St. Al’s. The person fled the area but within minutes was detained by Spokane Police Department, identified, trespassed from campus, and released when the student declined to pursue charges. The student was not injured. The subject did not use, or have on his person, any type of weapon.

A student reported an unknown person or persons entered his residence in the 200 block of East Sinto by breaking a pane of glass in the front door. The glass pane was located close enough to the door locked to allow the person or persons to unlock the door. Two laptops, two backpacks, an IPod, a Text book, and computer hardware were taken.
Here are some easy steps you can take to help protect your property:
* Lock your doors and windows. Keep curtains & blinds closed.
* Make sure all of your exterior lights are working.
* Report all crimes immediately. 911.
* Report suspicious persons and activities immediately. 911.
If you encounter a subject in your residence, do not attempt to confront them. Go to a safe place and call 911.

A student living in the 1000 block of East Desmet and a non-student living in the 400 block of East Sinto both reported locks cut on sheds behind their houses. 3 bikes were taken from the Sinto shed.
A former student parked her vehicle, loaded with items to move the next day, at her friend’s residence in the 700 block of East Mission. A window was broken and several items were taken.
September 2
A student reported the theft of her silver-blue Specialized bike from a Kennedy bike rack. It had been secured with a cable lock.
September 4
A student reported the theft of a backpack and skateboard from a off-campus house in the 300 block of East Nora during a party.
A student reported the theft of her Trek bike from a bike rack at Coughlin Hall. It had been secured with a cable lock.
A student reported the theft of his $2000 Iron Horse bike from a bike rack at Catherine Monica. The student had secured the bike with a U-lock.
September 6
A student reported the passenger side door lock “popped out” and a car stereo and Ipod taken while his car was parked near River Inn.
A student reported that a lock on his car was damaged when someone apparently tried to “pop out” the lock while it was parked in the 400 block of East Sharp. Nothing was taken.
September 7
A student reported the theft of her Gary Fisher bike from a bike rack at Catherine Monica. It had been secured with a U-lock.
