A basement window at Welch was broken by a non-campus juvenile subject when he used it to climb up the wall while talking with another (female) non-campus individual staying at Welch. Unfortunately for him, it was a window in the Security Dispatch Center.

11:55 PM

GU Security contacted two non-campus subjects, one of whom was very intoxicated and had fallen, on the south side of Lincoln Hall.  After the Spokane Fire Department  checked the subject who had fallen, both were transported to the nearby Red Lion hotel.

A GU Student reported that her vehicle was broken into while parked in the 500 block of East Nora Avenue sometime between 4:00 PM on May 29 and 1:30 PM on May 31.

GU Security and the Spokane Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Roncalli Hall. Crispy bacon activated a smoke detector.

A GU Student reported the theft of her bike from a residence in the 900 block of East Sharp between 7:30 PM and 11:00 PM on May 12. The bike was secured to a porch with a “cheap lock”.

A GU Residence Director reported that a vehicle parked on Lidgerwood east of Burch appeared to have been broken into. GU Security responded and found the vehicle full of household items. It was later determined that the vehicle belonged to a GU Student who reported that nothing had been taken.

A GU Student reported the theft of parts from his bike from the bike rack southeast of College Hall. Only the frame was still secured to the rack. The theft occurred sometime between the 16th and the 18th.

GU Security responded to a medical incident at Patterson Field.

11:42 AM

GU Security responded to a burglary alarm at the Music Annex. An instructor had entered and was unable to disarm the alarm system.

9:20 AM

A GU Student reported the theft of her vehicle from the parking lot at Kennedy Apartments. A review of digital surveillance showed the vehicle being driven away at 9:20 AM on the 24th by an unidentified white male. It appears that the subject used a “shaved key” to access and start the 1998 Suburu station wagon. A report was filed with the Spokane Police Department.

A GU Student reported that someone had broken a window on her vehicle while it was parked in the Corkery parking lot at about 2:00 AM on the 25th. An empty laptop bag was the only item missing.

May 27

A GU Student reported receiving harassing text messages and phone calls from a former roommate. She was provided with instructions regarding how to obtain a restraining order through the Spokane Police Department, and a no contact order through GU.

GU Security and the Spokane Fire Department responded to a fire alarm in the 1000 block of East Boone. No fire was found.

6:00 PM

Residents of a GU-owned property in the 900 block of East Sharp reported the theft of two laptops from inside the residence. Access was most likely made through an unsecured door at the rear of the residence between 3:20 PM and 4:30 PM.

A GU Student reported the theft of his bike from a bike rack at Dussault Apartments between 2:30 AM and 8:30 AM on May 4.

10:30 AM

A GU Student reported that a guitar and amplifiers were taken from his vehicle parked in the 900 block of Sinto Avenue between 12:45 AM and 6:45 AM on May 5.

1:00 PM

A GU Student reported the theft of his bike from the south bike rack at Kennedy apartments between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM on May 5. Only his quick-release front wheel, still secured by a U-Lock to the rack, was left.

A GU Student reported the theft of pedals from his bike at the bike rack at Dussault Apartments between 9:00 PM on May 4 and 11:00 AM on May 5.

GU Security received a report that a residence in the 900 block of East Augusta was burglarized. While residents were upstairs with friends, an unknown person or persons entered through an unlocked door and took several items from the first floor and basement, including laptops, a camera, a cell phone, and a wallet containing cash and credit cards. The Spokane Police Department responded and collected evidence from the residence.


Burglary Reported at Off-Campus Residence

GU Security received a report last night at 10:40 PM that a residence in the 900 block of East Augusta was burglarized. While residents were upstairs with friends, an unknown person or persons entered through an unlocked door and took several items from the first floor and basement, including laptops, a camera, a cell phone, and a wallet containing cash and credit cards. The Spokane Police Department responded and collected evidence from the residence.

This is a reminder to ALWAYS lock your doors and windows, even when you are at home!

GU Security and the Spokane Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at the Jesuit House. A smoldering chair too close to a fireplace activated a smoke detector. An employee had used a fire extinguisher to put the fire out.

A GU Student reported that his bike was taken from Mulligan Field sometime between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM on March 25. It was not secured.

A Spokane Police Department Extra-Duty Officer cited a GU Student for Minor in Possession and Obstructing an Officer when he ran from the officer who tried to make contact with him at the 300 block of East Sharp Avenue. The student discarded the beverage cup he had been carrying and ran to Dooley Hall where he attempted to conceal himself in a basement window well. The Spokane Fire Department was summoned to insure the student had not hurt himself jumping into the window well.

Housekeeping notified GU Security of a suspicious subject on the 3rd floor of Foley Library. The subject was contacted and trespassed.

GU Security and the Spokane Fire Department responded to a fire alarm at Marian Hall. Inattentive cooking led to the activation of a smoke detector.

GU Security was notified of a suspicious person (see the “Person of Interest” below) in the southeast elevator lobby at Kennedy Apartments. Security and the Kennedy Residence Director searched the building. A later review of video surveillance showed that the person had left the lobby not long after he was initially observed entering it via the west entry. A work order was place to check the west entry door return mechanism.

GU Security responded to a vehicle prowl report. A GU Student reported that he had parked his car the night of the 27th in the Burch Apartments parking lot, and that a GPS system and camera were taken from the vehicle after someone broke a window to gain access.

A GU Student reported that while his car was parked between 11:00 PM on the 27th and 3:00 PM on the 28th in the 1100 block of North Pearl Street, someone broke his passenger side window and accessed his glove box. The student reported that he could find nothing missing from the vehicle.

A GU Student reported that someone took an Ipod, watch, $100 cash, and a spare set of keys for his vehicle while it was parked behind Chardin between the morning of April 15 and 2:00 PM that same afternoon.

The vehicle was found by the Spokane Police Department a few blocks away in good condition, but minus the CD player. There was no sign of forced entry.

GU Security responded to a report of a disturbance at the Foley Library. Two non-students were contacted and asked to leave campus.

A GU Student reported that his scooter was missing, probably from near the Martin Center bike rack. He had last seen the scooter on April 2, and reported that he usually locked it with a cable lock.

A GU Student reported the theft of her bike from the stairwell at Dussault Apartments. She had a U-Lock but reported that the bike was not secured to anything.

GU Security and the Spokane Fire Department responded to a Fire Alarm at Rosauers Education Center. Water leaking through from an upper floor had activated a smoke alarm.

A GU Student reported that her laptop was missing from her off-campus apartment. She reported that she last saw the laptop on March 31 and noticed it missing on April 3. She also reported that she does not normally lock her apartment when she is home.

GU Security responded to a report of a male exposing himself at Foley Library. The subject was contacted, trespassed from the Gonzaga campus, and arrested by the Spokane Police Department.

GU Security and the Spokane Fire Department responded to a vehicle versus bike accident at Pearl and Sharp. The student who was on the bike refused treatment for her injuries. She was cited for failing to wear a helmet.

A GU Student reported to GU Dispatch that he had been assaulted by an unknown individual at an off-campus party in the 800 block of East Augusta.

GU Security responded to a report of individuals on the roof of Crosby. Two GU Students reported that they had climbed an adjacent tree to the roof and were “star-gazing”.

1:33 AM

GU Security responded to a report of property damage at Catherine Monica. The plexiglas covering on the snack display was pushed back out of its frame. At this time it is uncertain if any product was taken.

10:19 PM

GU Dispatch received a report of an attempted theft of a bike at the SW corner of Dussault Building C by a male subject wearing dark clothing, ball cap and backpack.  Dispatch located the subject on camera and dispatched officers to his location.  While officers were enroute, the subject entered a two tone Ford pickup truck parked near the dirt lot at the south side of Plant Services and departed the area northbound between Dussault and Plant Services without his headlights.  The truck was a mid 1980’s model, (pre-1988) extra cab long bed Ford. GU Security were also able to obtain a license plate.

A member of GU Housekeeping found a wallet belonging to a GU student in a trash receptacle at the Cog. The student was located. She reported that everything except some cash was accounted for.

4 GU Students were walking near Ruby and Boone when an occupant in a passing vehicle made a racial slur. The students were encouraged to report the incident to the Spokane Police Department.
