Gonzaga University Mock Trial Teams 1076 and 1077 competed in University of Colorado’S Boulder Battle Elite Mock Trial Invitational in Boulder, CO. Thirteen prestigious teams of over 100 students went head-to-head over four intense power-matched back-to-back rounds over the two-day period.
GU Team 1076 faced Colorado College (2-0), the Bye (Fusion) team (2-0), University of New Mexico (1-1), and University of Denver (1-1). GU Team 1077 dueled University of New Mexico (0-2), University of Colorado Boulder (2-0), Colorado College (0-2), and the Bye (Fusion) team (2-0).
With a record of 6-2, the tournament championship was captured by Gonzaga’s Team 1076. A coveted 17 rank All American Attorney Award was earned by GU Team 1076’s Kailey Silverstein as well.
GU Team 1076 consists of Mai Contino, Emily Klein, Sarah Kohan, Sharon Maher, Sammy Ollmann, and Kailey Silverstein. GU Team 1077 includes Ian Cobb, Shelby Damron, Katie Haas, Brittney Murray, Siri Wheeler, and Kurt Wohlers.
GU Mock Trial is coached by Dr. Georgie Ann Weatherby, Professor of Sociology & Criminal Justice; Daisy Tran, GU Mock Trial and GU Law Alum with Safeco Insurance (Personal Injury Division); Dan Wu, GU Law Alum in Spokane private practice; and Dr. Vik Gumbhir, Associate Professor of Sociology & Criminal Justice.
