Living in a Residence Hall @ GU

Gonzaga University is an excellent academic destination for reasons that are too numerous to list. Its mission statement is incorporated with countless points and statements that help to exemplify what it is like to be a part of this wonderful university.

”Gonzaga University is an exemplary learning community that educates students for lives of leadership and service for the common good. In keeping with its Catholic, Jesuit, and humanistic heritage and identity, Gonzaga models and expects excellence in academic and professional pursuits and intentionally develops the whole person — intellectually, spiritually, physically, and emotionally.” Residence Life and the residence halls themselves offer wonderful and supportive environments and communities that many students come to call home. Each residence hall has a little bit of everything for everyone and are the environments that the university establishes to foster the intellectual, spiritual, emotional, and physical health of as many students as possible.

An important thing to remember is that you will never be alone in your time in Gonzaga residence halls. Each hall has a Resident Assistant (myself included) that is there for you as a resource for any questions and concerns you may have as the year progresses. The RAs in your buildings will work long and hard to establish all-inclusive communities and plan events and take-tos, which your hall can participate in. Events are programs and experiences that your RA has put on, while take-tos are events that are pre-established and your RA will take you to.

The best feature of residence life is that we are here for you when you have troubles, questions, and concerns and we are — and always will be — a resource whenever we are needed. Be excited for what your time in the Gonzaga University residence halls has to offer and don’t be afraid to reach out in times of trouble or when you need additional information. Each Residence Hall is different, but the thing that unifies them together is their ability to foster the development of steadfast and inclusive communities. Communities and environments that everyone is willing to consider to call home. Gonzaga welcomes you.
