What’s Cooking On Campus

Welcome to the Gonzaga community! At Zag Dining, we strive to give students the nourishment needed to fuel their scholarly success! Through our commitment to making sure no student is hungry, our comprehensive dining program offers quality, variety, and  convenience through a fun, friendly, and community-oriented mindset.  

Incoming freshmen will be picking a meal plan as part of their residency requirement. Most first-year students opt for the flexibility of the unlimited meal plan, which allows them to focus on adjusting to college life, meeting new people, and successfully getting through their first few semesters. If you are concerned about choosing the right meal plan, rest assure that unrestricted changes can be made in Zagweb until January 18th at 5:00 pm. Below is the list of the mandatory meal plan options available to students required to purchase a plan:

         Platinum: Unlimited Meal Swipes, $500 Bulldog Bucks, $2,980 Cost Per Semester

                  *Perks – 9 Guest Passes

         Gold 16: 16 Meal Swipes Per Week, $550 Bulldog Bucks, $2,955 Cost Per Semester

                  *Perks – 5 Guest Passes

         Silver 12: 12 Meals Swipes Per Week, $700 Bulldog Bucks, $2,865 Cost Per Semester

                  *Perks – 5 Guest Passes

         Blue 225: 225 Meal Swipes Per Semester, $600 Bulldog Bucks, $2,895 Cost Per Semester

         White 175: 175 Meal Swipes Per Semester, $800 Bulldog Bucks, $2,865 Cost Per Semester

 

If you are living off campus, you can still have the convenience of a meal plan! Any enrolled student can purchase a mandatory meal plan listed above. You can make a payment through CASHNet or at the Student Accounts Office in the amount of one of the five plans listed, and then contact the Student Accounts Office at (509) 313-6812 or studentaccounts@gonzaga.edu to activate the plan. If the cost of the meal plan needs to be included in a payment plan, the student must contact or visit the Student Accounts Office to get the payments put in place. Off campus students and upperclassmen have the option to get a Community Meal Plan, these meal plans offer flexibility to students that do not live on campus as the meal swipes with these plans do not expire*.

Below is the list of community meal plan options for students that are not required to purchase a plan:

                Community Loyalty: 110 Meal Swipes, $855 Cost

                Nora 80: 80 Meal Swipes, $645 Cost

                Augusta 50: 50 Meal Swipes, $425 Cost

                Sinto 30: 30 Meal Swipes, $275 Cost

Additional Perks with each community meal plan:

  • These swipes NEVER expire! As long as you are a registered student, your swipes are good until they’re gone! (*Swipes expire if the account is inactive for 9 months.)
  • All plans participate in the Go Green Fund: 1.5% of the purchase price goes toward a campus sustainability project!

Community meal plans may also be accompanied by Bulldog Bucks, which can be used at any Zag Dining location across campus. Including Duff’s, SubConnection, Starbucks, The Bulldog, and many more. You are never far from a full meal or quick snack! Bulldog Bucks can be purchased at www.gonzaga.edu/bulldogbucks

Below we have listed and described all the dining locations that you can take advantage of on campus:

Resident Hall Dining

COG 

The COG is the center of community interaction for Gonzaga University. Gonzaga residents, faculty, staff and guests are all welcome to dine, socialize and explore the expanded dining options. The COG is a two level facility located in the John J. Hemmingson Center with six restaurant-style stations that are designed to provide a complete meal. Dining options include:

  • Daily Bread
    • Fresh deli style sandwiches featuring house-baked breads, homemade soups, salads and baked goods from our own bakery.
  • Spikes
    • Classic American comfort food like chicken pot pie, meatloaf, burgers and fries.
  • 360 degrees
    • Mongolian-style grill stationed at the center of the COG serving fresh stir fry custom made for each guest. Plus, the famous made to order omelets each morning.
  • Zagriculture
    • Vegan central, featuring an entirely plant-based menu of sustainable, seasonal foods as well as produce from the greenhouse.
  • Mediterranean Coast
    • Dishes inspired by the cultures surrounding the Mediterranean Sea, including pizzas and flatbreads from the wood fired oven.
  • World’s Fare
    • Cuisine from around the globe. This station also features our Simple Servings platform – menus designed free of the 8 most common food allergens including gluten and nuts – allowing students with food allergies to dine with confidence and convenience.

1887 at Cataldo

 Located in Cataldo Hall, 1887 at Cataldo is a technology-inspired fast casual restaurant dining experience. Send in your customized order on an iPad and dine in or take your meal to-go with one of our Choose to Reuse Container’s! The menu philosophy is developed solely on the voice of the customer, taking food preferences, demand for value, and speed of service into consideration. 

Retail Dining

The BULLDOG

Located on the second floor of the John J. Hemmingson Center, The Bulldog features a full sit-down restaurant experience, a quick service takeout menu, as well as local wines and draft beers in a safe and healthy environment.

Zaggin’ Wagon

Food truck fare, Gonzaga style! Our menu is perfect for lunch on-the-go, or just to enjoy the beautiful weather outside!

Wolfgang Puck Pizza

Wolfgang Puck Pizza is one of the casual restaurants in the Wolfgang Puck family of restaurants and the first on a college campus, conveniently located in the Hemmingson Center. This renowned chef has created a menu designed for the busy college student, with fresh and high-quality ingredients to make sure you get the meal you deserve!  Pizzas are Neapolitan-style, feed 1-2 people, with traditional toppings including fresh mozzarella, basil, soppressata and Genoa salami. 

The Marketplace

The Marketplace focuses on local, fresh and seasonal products. Soups, sandwiches, salads, and sushi are made from scratch daily. Gluten free, dairy free, organic, and GMO free products are featured along with typical convenience items such as candy, gum, and chips. The Marketplace is located on the first floor in the John J. Hemmingson Center.

Starbucks

Starbucks is a full-service location in the John J. Hemmingson Center serving high-quality whole bean coffees along with fresh, rich-brewed, Italian style espresso beverages. They also serve a variety of pastries and confections, coffee-related accessories and equipment.

Fuel Cell Smoothies & More

These blended-to-order masterpieces practically invented smoothies. All your favorites are in the mix: real whole fruit, 100% fruit juice, sherbet, and frozen yogurt, plus nutritional boosts. Come in for a refreshing treat that’s always served in a fun and uplifting environment!

Duff’s

Duff’s is located in the Kennedy apartments and is a great place to grab breakfast, lunch, and dinner. With the tastiest breakfast burritos, delightful panini’s, and the famous $2 Duff’s burger, there is no better place to grab that comfort/diner style food you needed!

Sub Connection

Sub Connection makes custom order subs and wraps. This dining facility is located on the ground floor of Welch Hall. Sub Connection also features breakfast sandwiches, salads, and pizza. Enjoy your favorites anytime with extended hours.

Tres Habaneros

Tres Habaneros is the spice needed in your life! Located on the ground floor of Welch Hall, you will find a delicious selection of tacos, burritos, quesadillas, nachos, and more. Everything is customizable to match you and your tastes!

Margie’s at Tilford’s

Margie’s at Tilford’s is a full-service espresso bar featuring locally owned Craven’s Coffees, lattes, mochas, and Italian sodas, fresh baked pastries and sandwiches.

Café Lawte

Café Lawte is a full-service espresso bar featuring locally owned, responsibly sourced Craven’s Coffee. Café Lawte is located in Gonzaga University’s Law School.

Contemplative Café

Located in Cataldo Hall, the Contemplative Café proudly serves Starbucks coffee, delicious donuts made in-house daily, and healthy breakfast options like overnight oats and avocado toast. Contemplative Café located in Cataldo is the perfect get away for a nice cup of coffee and an artisanal breakfast sandwich.

Zag Dining is serious about food! Our talented team of professionals is here for you. We love special requests – give us a recipe from back home and we’ll add it to the menu!  Do you need help with dietary restrictions or allergies? We are skilled at accommodating the most challenging dietary needs. We are available in person, by phone, or e-mail to help everyone get acclimated to their new routine.
