Flu season is now upon us (flu cases have already been reported in the Spokane area). Health care providers and public health organizations recommend people get vaccinated against influenza annually. With the majority of our students pursuing careers in health care, it is vital that they do so—to protect themselves and their patients. Spokane Regional Health District (our local public health agency) has a helpful fact sheet on influenza that details the risks of the illness and the benefits of flu vaccines.
