myGU: Gonzaga’s first-ever Intranet

Imagine: One website with everything you need in one place. That’s what we’re creating with myGU, our first-ever intranet. This customizable, password-protected, internal website will be a convenient hub of resources for students, faculty and staff (and not available to the general public). Think of it as your home page for all things Gonzaga – a starting point for access all kinds of internal tools and information.

Some highlights include:

  • A My Apps area where you can get one-click access to the applications and web services you use most. Add things like ZagWeb, ZagMail, Zags Travel and Expense, Blackboard, Banner, Event Management System (EMS), PeopleAdmin and more. Sign in to myGU once using your Gonzaga network credentials, and you will have access to all of these tools without needing to log in to each one separately.
    [Update: Single Sign On (SSO) functionality that, once logged in to myGU, allows you access to applications without needing to log in to each one separately will be limited to select applications at launch. SSO will be enabled for many apps over time, prioritizing universally-used apps like Blackboard, Zags Travel and Expense, and EMS Scheduler. It may not be possible to enable SSO functionality may not be possible for all apps.]
  • A customizable home page with the links, web pages and resources you visit most often. Find yourself searching for the same page on myGU often? Add it to your favorites and it will be on your myGU home page for easy access in the future.
  • An internal directory of faculty, staff, and locations* – Making it easier to find the people and places you’re looking for around campus.
    * Faculty and staff directory information is provided by the University’s Active Directory – Microsoft’s directory service that powers the Address Book and people search functionality in Outlook.
  • Upcoming events, the latest GU news and social media posts – A great way to see what’s going on at GU.

While content on myGU will be somewhat limited at launch (and may redirect to information on the new Gonzaga.edu), the site will continue to grow over time as we learn what types of content and functionality are most useful on this new platform. We aim to make myGU an invaluable resources and a place to foster community by sharing news and stories about the people of Gonzaga.
