ZagAlert Reminder!

So far, 2079 members of our community have signed up to receive emergency alerts. That’s a great start, but we are still missing many of you. Please take a few minutes to help us communicate with you during emergency events.

Dear Students, Faculty and Staff members,

Gonzaga University has purchased an Emergency Notification System, ZagAlert, which will notify and give direction to students, staff and faculty upon the University’s confirmation of a significant emergency or dangerous situation occurring on campus involving an immediate threat to health or safety. In the event of such emergency, notification may be sent through ZagAlert via phone messages, text messages and e-mail announcements.

For this system to work effectively, the University needs your help. We need to collect your phone numbers and e-mail addresses, both primary and secondary. Please log into ZagWeb at http://zagweb.gonzaga.edu.  Sign in using your University ID and pin. If you do not have a University ID or your pin number has expired, please call the Registrar’s Office at (509) 313-6592.

After signing in:

·         Click on the link labeled “ZagAlert” at the top of the screen

·         Fill in the form as completely as possible

·         Enter your preferred contact phone number into the “Preferred Phone” number field.  (This is the only required field on the form)

·         Click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the form

·         If you wish to opt out of being contacted, click on the “Options” button at the bottom of the form.  Click on the “Opt-out” link and enter your ZagWeb pin to confirm that you are opting out of the system.  (Please be aware that if you choose to opt out of the ZagAlert system you will not be contacted in the event of a major campus emergency)

This information will not be used by the University or its ZagAlert provider for any purposes other than emergency notification. Gonzaga will test the system twice annually to insure its proper operation. No other messages, other than emergency notification, will be sent via this system.  You can use the “Opt-out” method described above to opt out at any point.

Please sign into ZagWeb today and complete the contact information form for ZagAlert. We hope we never have to use this system, but the safety and security of our campus community is our top priority, and this emergency notification system is an important step in insuring the safety of our campus community.

Thank you for your help.

Sincerely,

Robert J. Spitzer, S.J.

President
