ZagAlert Update

Gonzaga’s new Emergency Notification System, ZagAlert, will be used to notify you in case of a significant emergency or dangerous situation occurring on campus involving an immediate threat to health or safety.

ZagAlert is now an opt-out system. If you are an ON-CAMPUS student or employee, you will be automatically asked to review and update your ZagAlert information approximately every six months when you log into ZagWeb.

When you log in to ZagWeb and are asked to update your information, you will be presented with three different options:

·         ZagAlert Contact Information – This link will enable you to confirm and update your contact information. After updating and/or confirming your information, click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the form. You will not be asked to update your information again for approximately six months.

·         Remind Me Later – This link will enable you to bypass the update form if you need immediate access to ZagWeb. You will be asked to update your information again at a later date.

·         Opt-Out – This link will remove you from the ZagAlert system. After clicking the link you will be asked for your ZagWeb pin in order to confirm that you have elected to opt out of ZagAlert. You will not receive any ZagAlert emergency notifications or system tests. You will not be asked to update your information again for approximately six months.

Once you sign up, you may opt out or change your settings at any point by logging into ZagWeb and clicking on the “ZagAlert” link on the main menu. To change your settings, click on the “Options” button at the bottom of the form.

If you do not have a University ID or your pin number has expired, please call the Registrar’s Office at (509) 313-6592.

We will be doing a system-wide test every semester, beginning early in 2009. We do this to make sure there are no snags in the system.

We hope we never have to implement our ZagAlert system, but we hope it gives you some peace of mind knowing that we have such a system in place.

If you have questions or concerns, please call the ITS Support Center at (509) 313-5550.
