Gonzaga student reports cell phone theft north of campus late Friday
A Gonzaga student reported she was walking with another student north of campus near Cincinnati and Mission at approximately 10:55 PM On May 4 when a blue Ford two-door sedan with racing stripes on the side stopped adjacent to them and the male driver asked to use a cell phone. The students described the subject as a white male adult in his mid to late twenties with blond, close-cropped hair on the sides of his head and longer hair on top. The students advised the male subject spoke with a “Eastern European” accent. The students also observed a female in the front passenger seat. The student handed him her “T-Mobile Galaxy 5” smart phone. The subject advised the number had not connected and asked if he could pull the vehicle forward toward the curb. When the student agreed, the subject accelerated northbound on Cincinnati across Mission at a high rate of speed with her phone. Spokane Police responded and are investigating.
