Dr. John Tadrous, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at Gonzaga University, gave an invited talk on Feb. 16 at the 2018 Information Theory and Applications Workshop in San Diego.
His subject, “Proactive content caching with improving predictions,” builds on his past work in foreseeing mobile users’ interests. He presented new findings supported with numerical simulations demonstrating a better load balance when systems can dynamically predict which high-data content will be of interest to users. Such content is then partially downloaded during low-traffic times.
This is joint work with Atilla Eryilmaz of Ohio State University.
