Ph. D. in Biological Sciences, January 2002, Purdue University.  Mentor: Dr. Cynthia V. Stauffacher.  Thesis Title: Structural Studies of Substrate Binding and Catalysis in Pseudomonas mevalonii HMG-CoA Reductase.

Professional Experience:

Postdoctoral Research Associate, Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics, Oregon State University.  January 2002 to August 2005.  Mentor: Dr. P. Shing Ho.  Experience included x-ray crystallographic studies of DNA, RNA and protein/peptide structures, molecular dynamics simulations of protein structure and protein structure prediction.

Adjunct Faculty, Mature Learning Program, Clark College (Vancouver, Washington).  Winter 2005.  Developer and Instructor for Genes, Genomes and Society course on biotechnology and bioethics for students age 55 and over.

Visiting Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology Program, Whitman College.  August 2005 to August 2006.  Courses Taught: General chemistry lecture, biochemistry lecture and laboratory.
