SBA students participate in many clubs and activities across the university. The groups mentioned on this page are SBA-specific groups.

Alpha Kappa Psi
Alpha Kappa Psi is a national organization that specializes in developing business professionals. Alpha Kappa Psi has five core tenets that direct professional success through brotherhood, knowledge, integrity, service, and unity. Gonzaga’s chapter, Phi Omega, incorporates the tenants to serve and organize events for its members and the community. Phi Omega has been a part of Gonzaga since 2003 and has more than 400 alums.

Beta Alpha Psi 
Gonzaga’s student chapter of Beta Alpha Psi (BAP) strives to be a place where excellence is acknowledged across the fields of accounting, finance, and information systems. Gonzaga has aligned with BAP to unite in the overall mission of developing ethical and social responsibility for the future of business professionals.  Meetings include discussions of a wide range of topics including the Certified Public Accountant Exam and relevant industry topics.

Beta Gamma Sigma
Beta Gamma Sigma is a business and management honor society with more than 600 chapters at colleges and universities accredited by AACSB International.

Collegiate DECA 
The Gonzaga student chapter of Collegiate DECA is a competitive business club that participates in local and national business case competitions, networks with professionals, and sometimes travels to business case competitions. It is a nationally recognized organization that hosts several conferences and competitions. In participating in these events members use their knowledge, expertise, and creativity to further develop into leaders of the industry.

First Generation Investors
First Generation Investors (FGI) is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization that teaches high school students the power of investing and brings classroom lessons to life by providing students with real money to invest. FGI takes a near-peer approach to learning, utilizing a national network of college volunteers to teach the 8-week program to high school students. The program includes a range of investing topics such as compound interest, stocks, bonds, ETFs, etc. Upon completion of the program, each high school student is granted $100 to invest. The Gonzaga FGI chapter has been operating since Fall 2022 and is continuing to grow.

Gonzaga University Investment Banking Accelerator
The Investment Banking Accelerator seeks to empower Gonzaga students by equipping them with the necessary tools, knowledge, mentorship, and network to succeed in investment banking and related fields. This is accomplished through rigorous coursework, practical training, and real-world experiences. The Investment Banking Accelerator strives to use experience and knowledge to create a meaningful impact on the finance world. The group is a part of the GU Investment Club.

Gonzaga Sport Consulting Group
GSCG is a student-run consultancy at Gonzaga University that shapes future business leaders through sports by providing students the opportunity to help sports brands with real business problems. GSCG has worked with the Seattle Kraken, Los Angeles Clippers, Kroenke Sports & Entertainment, San Francisco Giants, Truist Bank, Gonzaga University Athletics, Spokane Hoopfest Association, Seattle Sounders FC, Portland Timbers, Minnesota United FC, and the Portland Trail Blazers. GU Investment Club
The GU Investment Club (GUIC) manages a portfolio of $100,000. Under the guidance of the Gonzaga faculty, members have the opportunity to pitch stocks and select which merit investment. From its inception in 2020 to June 2022, the GUIC has had a 15.5 percent rate of return, beating the S&P 500 index return by 90 basis points. The GUIC seeks to foster growth in leadership, public speaking, and analytical skills in its members.

New Venture Lab
Gonzaga’s New Venture Lab is an eight-week program that pairs students with local entrepreneurs to aid in the creation of a business. Students function in a group setting with students also serving as project managers.  Services range from market research to idea development and business plan creation.  Entrepreneurs who participate in the New Venture Lab have a myriad of different backgrounds and experiences, which helps students develop real-world skills.  More information on past clients and how to apply to be a part of the program can be found here.

Omicron Delta Epsilon
Omicron Delta Epsilon is a national honors society specializing in the field of economics. Gonzaga’s requirements for membership consist of a 3.2 GPA of 12 or more semester hours in economics while also maintaining an overall 3.0 GPA. One of the advantages of membership includes a year’s subscription to The American Economist which contains economic research from students and faculty across the country.

Society for Human Resource Management
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) engages students interested in HR and related fields in professional development, networking opportunities, competitions, community engagement, career preparation, and leadership opportunities. The Gonzaga student chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) was awarded a 2022-2023 Superior Merit Award designation for providing superior growth and development opportunities to its student members.

Women in Business
The Gonzaga Women in Business Club is dedicated to helping all students build the professional skills they will need to succeed in the workforce. Each semester, the club provides a series of guest speaker presentations, professional development workshops, and networking opportunities to undergraduate students across the university. Women in Finance Leadership and Balance
Eighteen SBA students participated in the inaugural Women in Finance Leadership and Balance (WiF LaB) initiative in Fall 2023 and Spring 2024. The group meets six times each semester with influential women in the finance field to learn more about how to design an individual pathway for personal and professional leadership in the field. The WiF LaB is facilitated by Linda Underwood, one of the SBA’s Executives in Residence. Sessions include storytelling, professional guests, and applied skills.

Zags Business+Tech
Zags Business+Tech (ZBT) bridges the gap between technical learning in the classroom and adding value to a business. We facilitate a learning-by-doing approach, providing structured workshops, organizing experiential learning projects, and hosting guest speakers. Recognizing the multidisciplinary nature of business, ZBT also partners with other student clubs to create technical solutions while allowing members to explore their interests with a technologist’s mindset.
