Leadership, Creativity, and the Art of Writing

Posted by: ferch | February 5, 2014 | No Comment |

Hi All, I want to forward a message to you regarding Leadership and the Art of Writing.

I was honored to help our Comprehensive Leadership Program director, Dr. Josh Armstrong put this together, as Jess is an outstanding national level writer, and good friend.

Love to see you there!

Dr. Shann Ferch

The Comprehensive Leadership Program would like to invite you to our Spring Fishbowl with National Book Award finalist and New York Times Bestselling author, Jess Walter.  The CLP Fishbowl is a leadership conversation with regional and national leaders who share their expertise and insight in a format geared toward the exploration of “the interior of a leader.”  On this evening, Jess will explore the intersection between art and cultural influence, and give us insight into his creative process.

Wednesday, February 12 at 6 pm

Wolff Aud., Jepson Center

In preparation for our Fishbowl, please read Jess’ humorous yet meaningful short story, Statistical Abstract for My Home of Spokane, WA  https://www.byliner.com/jess-walter/stories/statistical-abstract-for-my-home-of-spokane-washington –

We are looking forward to this incredible evening – here is what others are saying about Jess Walter’s recent books —

We Live in Water (2013) “So freakishly, fiendishly good it isn’t fair.” – Seattle Times;

Beautiful Ruins (2012)  “A high-wire feat of bravura storytelling.” NYT Book Review;

The Financial Lives of the Poets (2009) “Brilliant—and brilliantly funny.” — Esquire;

The Zero (2006)  A brilliant tour de force.” Kirkus Reviews
