DPLS 703 – Spring 2013

Posted by: Anna | September 30, 2012 | No Comment |

DPLS 703 is scheduled for Friday in the Spring. The records of the department suggest that there are many more students needing 703 to qualify to begin candidacy than the 15 slots available in the course. We would consider trying to offer a second section of the course if there is need and if students are willing to commit to enrolling. We continue to have students who enroll in classes to save a seat and then withdraw prior to the beginning of class, making life very difficult for their classmates. For planning purposes, we need everyone who is planning on taking DPLS 703 in the Spring to respond to Marnie: broughton@gonzaga.edu answering the following questions (reply to all as necessary):

___ I definitely plan to take DPLS 703 in the Spring.

If you plan to take DPLS 703 in the Spring, please indicate your preference for the day:
___ I definitely plan to take DPLS 703 in the Spring but would prefer a Saturday morning class.
___ I definitely plan to take DPLS 703 in the Spring but would prefer a Thursday night class.
___ I definitely plan to take DPLS 703 in the Spring but would prefer a Friday night class.

___ I need DPLS 703 but plan to take it during the summer.

Remember to include your name. Thank you!

The Doctoral Program in Leadership Studies is very pleased to announce that Dr. JoAnn Barbour will be joining the core faculty of the program in the Fall. In the Fall she will be teaching the Qualitative Research Course (DPLS 723) and will likely be team-teaching another course. She will be available to chair, co-chair, or be a committee members for dissertation committees and will be assigned as a pre-candidacy advisor for students. Information about JoAnn Barbour can be found here. The involvement of the community, and especially the active involvement of students, was critical for the selection process. The program anticipates an announcement about the next opening will occur in the Fall and will look forward to continued involvement of students in the process.
