Zag Nation Came Through In A Big Way

The challenge was clear: if 1,500 Zags made gifts to GU on March 15, 2016 for Zags Give Day, some longtime friends of the University would give an additional $50,000 in support of current and future Gonzaga students. Plus, the Board of Regents offered to donate $1 for each share on social media. As things usually go when Zags are challenged, the GU community came through in a big way.

Zags shared #ZagsGiveDay enough times to add $1,790 from the Board of Regents, turning tweets, shares, posts and messages into actual funds that support scholarships and the tools necessary to provide a complete Gonzaga experience.

After tallying all of the day’s gifts, Gonzaga received donations from 1,409 dedicated Zags. This is a tremendous showing on the part of the University’s alumni, friends, family members, faculty and staff—thank  you!

Since this was so close to the goal, the generous benefactors who presented the challenge decided to give $45,000 of the challenge gift, reserving the last $5,000 for a little “overtime” encouragement—if just 91 more Zags step up to give any amount, the full $50,000 will go to the Fund for Gonzaga.  Click here to visit the Zags Give Day: Overtime giving site.

Thank you for all your support!
