Did you know that Gonzaga is:
- Ranked #4 for Peace Corps involvement compared with similar-sized institutions
- #1 for Jesuit Volunteer Corps
- Has a 30% acceptance rate for Teach for America (national average is 10%)
- On the U.S. President’s Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll
And…
- The Class of 2010 had 52 students enter into post-graduate volunteer service
A commitment to service is an integral part of a Gonzaga education. It is such an exciting time to be involved in helping others – wherever you are – and continuing the mission of sharing your gifts. Fortunately Gonzaga University is able to maintain this commitment through the programs and opportunities offered by the Center for Community Action and Service-Learning (CCASL). CCASL is an organization located on campus that acts as a clearinghouse of resources and referrals on community agencies, volunteer opportunities, service-learning courses and other means of public service and action.
Where will you serve today? If you need any ideas, seek out non-profit organizations in your area – or call our CCASL office if you are in Spokane!
Excerpt from Gonzaga’s Mission Statement:
“We hope that all our graduates will live creative, productive, and moral lives, seeking to fulfill their own aspirations and at the same time, actively supporting the aspirations of others by a generous sharing of their gifts.”
